When I was 7 Years Old
Sooo, I'm sitting up in the bed waiting for my three year old to realize she's sleepy, when suddenly she wants to hear the song, "Seven Years Old" by Lukas Graham.
Good Mommy I am I pull up You Tube and had a moment with my daughter.
It was in the middle of singing I realized I was seven years old when my life changed. It was summer and I was seven years old when my family moved into our family home. I can remember sitting in the middle back seat of my father's blue pontiac while my mother sat in the driver's seat, my oldest sister, Tia, rode shotgun, and my baby sister and brother, Tyra and Wardell Jr. sat at the window seats.
My usual position would have been the window seat, but today, I needed to feel everyone because I was so elated to be going on this "family run" to town to get cleaning supplies for our new home. I can remember the pretty blue sky through the window shield and being so happy I physically felt I could fly straight to the sky. I sat back (no seat belts at this time) and enjoyed God's fullness in my heart.
Family home. Made from love, hope, and sweat
God's presence was so loud I was overcome with happiness and tears. To this day some of my most favorite memories with my family began with that day when I was seven years old. Thank you for your feel good song, Mr. Lukas Graham. And thank you Mom and Dad for loving us enough to put us in a home we watched from ground up being built and every tree, flower and grass seed you put in the ground. Thank you.
